About the assignment

We’re looking for a Business Development Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in country for 10 months. 

  • As a volunteer, you will be conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current market and identifying growth opportunities, providing guidance on the development & implementation of effective marketing & sales strategies.
  • This assignment seeks to secure St John PNG's social enterprise' financial sustainability
  • To be considered for this role, you'll need 3+ years of experience in business development, ideally within a healthcare context

 About the Partner Organisation

St John Ambulance (SJA) is a statutory body and state agent that supports the Government of Papua New Guinea in the coordination of ambulance services as well as provide a social enterprise offering of first aid kits, consumables and nationally accredited training. St John Ambulance’s vision is to deliver outstanding prehospital care where it’s needed.

The main activities of St. John Ambulance includes:

  • Ambulance Services
  • Event Health Services (Special events and Disaster Emergency response)
  • First Aid Training – Commercial and Community First Aid Training and First Aid Kits
  • Medical Evacuation and helicopter retrieval

The volunteer will fortify business strategies, analyse markets and guide effective marketing. Additionally they will collaborate on a financial plan, diversify offerings and mentor PNG staff to ensure long-term revenue streams and client relationships.

We cover your flights, insurance, and provide a living and accommodation allowance. Learn more here

In-country allwance is AUD$ 1654 per month

Remote allowance is AUD$ 79 per month

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include: obtaining a First Aid Certificate.
