Wesley Mission is a prominent, multifaceted Christian organisation dedicated to making a tangible impact in the community. With over 200 services ranging from aged care to homeless support, child and family care, counselling, employment, training, education, and health services, they are committed to their vision: “Doing all the good we can because every life matters”.
This well-known community service provider offers a structured and engaging onboarding process, their culture is nurturing and people first and each team member commits to being accountable for their work whilst working collaboratively towards common goals. This is reflected in the long employee tenure across the organisation.
Working closely with an empowering and experienced, Head of Philanthropy, this role has huge potential to develop and deliver an impressive philanthropy program.
With a wide range of services and programs in place to support the community, there are many opportunities to find value alignments with major donors, HNWI, Trusts & Foundations and Corporate Partners. With backing and investment from the executive team you will have time and space to creatively evolve the program.
The initial focus for the Philanthropy Manager will be to work closely with the wider fundraising team to identify prospective donors and start to build a major donor pipeline. You will work with the Head of Philanthropy to establish a communication and stewardship supporter journey that increases engagement and awareness of the organisation’s great work, getting to know your prospective donors over the phone, via email and face to face, working to soliciting major gifts over time.
The other area of focus will be Trusts and Foundations. You will work closely with a fundraising consultant to utilise a supplier grants portal, recognising opportunities to share Wesley’s Mission’s services with trust and foundations managers across the country. You’ll have a love for writing engaging proposals to secure funding.
The future opportunities are wide-open in this role and will include corporate partnership engagement, work place giving and corporate volunteering. The newly formed Philanthropy team has internal support from a large marketing and communications team for their program related needs.
This is a great opportunity to put your philanthropy relationship and writing skills to the test and join the organisation at a pivotal growth point as they develop an internal culture of philanthropy with their leaders and drive forward an internal Fundraising Committee.
