Designer Life

ABOUT Designer Life

Welcome to Designer Life, we are committed to helping individuals find their full potential and overcome barriers to make a better life for themselves. With over 20-years' experience in providing the highest level of client care, we’re able to support disadvantaged communities in their effort to increase employment opportunities for First Nations Australians, people with a disability, early school leavers, the long term unemployed and other disadvantaged members of the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Designer Life NDIS is a registered NDIS provider delivering School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) for participants aged 15 to 22, along with other NDIS supports for those over 22 years with employment or training goals. Working in a case management model, you will support NDIS participants to achieve the goals set out within their NDIS Plan.

Your job as a Career Coach is to assist NDIS participants in discovering a career path that is right for them and helping them to access support to make a strong start on their employment journey. You will be sourcing work experience placements and providing on-the-job support so you can design a program that is targeted to each participant’s needs.

You will ensure that a personalised plan and agreement is made with each participant according to NDIS guidelines. Ultimately, you will work with people with additional learning challenges to access the SLES program and wider NDIS participants of all ages to prepare for accessing open employment.

Career advice and support will be captured in a career plan that establishes the participant’s vocational identity and connects with other agencies like Disability Employment Services to assist participants in meeting work goals and aspirations. The delivery approach will include a variety of online activities, one-on-one support, group-based training as well as external activities to build participant's capacity for work, including training, learning valuable life and workplace skills, and real work experience.
