Are you passionate about helping young people and their families? headspace Hastings is seeking anIntake & Brief Intervention Clinician to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for young people, you will play a crucial role in engaging, screening, and providing effective brief interventions and single session therapy for young people (12-25 years), their families and carers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engage with young people, families, and stakeholders to identify needs and determine appropriate supports and referral pathways
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical mental health interventions, focusing on single session frameworks and brief treatment/support models
  • Engage families and carers in treatment planning and family work as required
  • Maintain effective relationships with local stakeholders and agencies
  • Conduct health promotion activities within the centre and wider community

About you

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (such as Youth Work, Occupational Therapy, Social Sciences, Counselling, Psychology or Social Work)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with adolescents and young adults with early-stage, varied mental health presentations across the mild-moderate scale
  • Highly developed assessment and therapeutic counselling skills, particularly in single session and brief intervention techniques
  • Proven ability to effectively liaise, consult, negotiate, communicate, and collaborate with clients, their families, and other agencies and service providers
  • Experience working across a range of flexible modalities, including group-based intervention, telehealth, and single session frameworks
  • Experience working with families to deliver therapeutic interventions

Post-graduate qualifications in related field or a minimum 3 years’ experience working in the relevant field is also highly desirable.
