About the role

We have an opportunity for a Case Worker to join our Reconnect Team within our Youth Accommodation Team on a permanent full-time basis.

This role is a community-based early intervention and prevention program for young people aged 12 to 18 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and their families. The role will provide culturally appropriate counselling, mediation and case management through proactive community outreach with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

About you

You’ll have significant experience in working in the Social Service Sector, and an understanding of evidence-based service models for working with youth and their families. Along with this, you’ll also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or similar is preferred but not required
  • As a 51 role, people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent encouraged to apply
  • Prior experience working with young people who are experiencing mental health concerns
  • Knowledge in the areas of income support, education, substance abuse, working with other cultures, relationship counselling and child abuse
  • Case work experience within the community sector
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
