ABOUT THE ROLE

The Social Media and Content Coordinator plays a pivotal role in amplifying the mission and impact of our organisation. Through strategic content creation and effective social media management, they engage our community, raise awareness and drive meaningful action. Their dedication and creativity foster connections, inspire support, and ultimately contribute to our collective efforts in improving the lives of companion animals in need.

This is a newly created casual position (6-10 hours per week), ready for you to make it your own!

Hybrid work model that supports a blend of in-office (Coburg), work from home and on location.

key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content calendar for all digital channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, ensuring alignment with our brand's mission, values and impact goals
  • End-to-end content creation including shooting, editing, recording voiceover, scheduling & reporting
  • Create and edit content for PUR’s website and print materials ensuring adherence with brand guidelines, as well as suggesting ideas for enhancing engagement
  • Produce innovative and engaging digital content, including photography, video, and graphics, that drive brand awareness
  • Collaborate with various program teams to create cohesive and impactful content
  • Develop and maintain content library
  • Monitor social media trends and adjust strategies to optimise engagement and reach
  • Engage with our online community, fostering meaningful interactions and building strong relationships with followers and partners
  • Analyse performance data to continually refine and improve our content and social media strategies
  • Assist with curating the Social Media content for PUR
  • Schedule and maintain all posts for all channels using Meta Business Suite
  • Conduct research on prevailing benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Stay abreast of current technologies, social trends, functionality, algorithms, design tools, and applications.
  • Monitor campaigns, analyse data obtained, and create reports to exemplify traffic and trends

key selection criteria

Essential

  • A sophisticated understanding of social media platforms particularly Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and their respective best practices
  • Experience in social media management and content creation that demonstrates creativity and effectiveness in digital storytelling
  • Ability to quickly create clean and professional looking graphics using an existing style guide and set of assets
  • Basic knowledge of content creation tools and software including Canva, Adobe Creative, Capcut and inShot
  • Ability to write scripts, generate content ideas, and cut video together for Reels and TikTok
  • Comfortable being both in front of and behind the camera
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality content
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with digital trends and adapt strategies accordingly
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Self-driven, positive, highly motivated attitude with a demonstrated track record of taking initiative to seek new and unique ways of reaching broader audiences
  • A creative and innovative approach to work
  • Highly organised and detail orientated with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • You will be a go-getter who is ready to hit the ground running and utilise your talents to take PUR’s social media channels to the next level
  • A collaborative approach to creation and implementation of social media strategies and campaigns

Desirable

  • A great storyteller with the ability to produce compelling written and visual content that engages audiences and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how to run tests and gain insights into what is working and what is not
  • Experience in impact-focused content creation, with demonstrable examples across written, infographic and video content
