Shelter WA is the peak body in Western Australia for the community housing and homelessness sectors. Our vision is that all people living in Western Australia have a home that enables them to thrive. We’re a small, close-knit team - despite having grown significantly over the last year - who are all passionate about making a difference to those who have experienced, continue to experience or are at risk of homelessness. We’re now looking for an expert in community housing and homelessness services who can lead the delivery of our capacity building programs to empower and strengthen the sector.
The Sector Development and Stakeholder Engagement Officer leads the delivery of Shelter WA’s capacity building programs and projects to strengthen the housing and homelessness services and sectors. This newly created role provides expertise in the community housing and homelessness services and leads a small team and a range of projects.
This role will identify strengths and gaps in skills and knowledge in community housing for increased empowerment and growth of the sector in Western Australia as well as positively engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including our members, to ensure their needs and emerging trends are captured and reflected in our advocacy efforts. The role liaises extensively with our policy and media teams.
You’ve a deep knowledge of community housing solutions and homeless responses and you have a proven track record in sector development to drive positive change. You will have the leadership and expertise to work with our members, government and partners at a senior level to drive and advocate to deliver a better housing system. You understand the social housing sector and industry challenges and are committed to developing the capacity and capability of community housing for improved housing outcomes. You’re enthusiastic, innovative and a team player.
