About the role:

The People and Culture Volunteer Administrator provides membership services to our dedicated volunteers by providing a customer care experience to support them and the organisation to ultimately serve our purpose of saving lives through first aid.

This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic People, Performance and Culture Team in a rewarding role that will see you make a difference by supporting our 3000 strong volunteers and cadets whilst they’re joining, being promoted or transferring to other teams or divisions within St John NSW.

The key areas of responsibilities include:

  • Providing volunteers, leaders and cadets general enquiry support about their membership.
  • Ensuring the governance of the Volunteer Information Portal as an administrator for all volunteer system data, authorisations, reporting and system improvements.
  • Supporting the Criminal Record Checks (CRC) and Working With Children Checks (WWCC) process and ensuring that all volunteers have these cleared checks in place for their volunteer membership.
  • Supporting the Cadet Program, awards and service recognition and personal service information for the Order and Award Nominations.
  • Supporting Child Safety in line with our Child Safety Policy and providing coordinating support for the team of 40 Child Wellbeing Officers.
  • Providing Project support with Volunteer and Child Safety accreditations.

Successful applicants will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years customer service experience and/or coordinator/administration support experience. 
  • A Human Resources relevant University qualification is advantageous. 
  • HR or People & Culture role experience preferred. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact and enable our volunteers and cadets effectively.
  • Sound computer literacy across the range of MS Office Suite; including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Able to demonstrate empathy with the ethos of the organisation. 
  • Able to work effectively within a commercial and not-for-profit cultural environment.
