About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to lead a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers and Early Years Educators across our Early Years Places located in Browns Plains, Acacia Ridge, and Beaudesert. As a Team Leader, you will work among a collaborative leadership team, supporting an empowering, holistic and strengths-based approach to service-delivery. Duties

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure that services can be provided to clients in a way that maximise outcomes and meet organisational, service, funding compliance objectives
  • Support team members to understand the vision, values and direction of the organisation and translate them so the team understands how they relate to their everyday practice
  • Work with team members to achieve performance expectations, build their capability, provide regular recognition, develop and utilise talent in the team, and identify and achieve improved client outcomes and increase employee engagement
  • Evaluate the quality of service delivery, client plans, and client outcomes against service and funding objectives on a regular basis. Identify gaps in delivery and work with the team to build capability and improve service design and delivery
  • Coordinate regular communication channels including team meetings, client and practice reviews, and 1:1 discussions with team members
  • Work collaboratively with staff across the organisation and with the community to develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with community partners (Child Health Nurses and Midwives) , referral agencies, and community groups, including attending networking meetings and forums

Skills and Experience

We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you’ll have a degree/qualification in Social Work, Human Services/Social Welfare or another relevant field AND:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in leading a team (Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team is a bonus!)
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and leadership with an approachable, transparent and responsive style in building positive team culture
  • Comprehensive leadership skills including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines and conflict resolution
  • Strong understanding of the principles of integrated service delivery and an ability to undertake a leadership role with multi disciplines of teams
  • Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities and risk indicators
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross functional way with teams, peers and stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
