Make a Difference: Lead Our Homeshare Program in South Australia

  • Part-time position 0.6 FTE – Fixed term contract

The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1884. Our principal role is to provide for, or alleviate, the needs of disadvantaged people in the community.

As the Homeshare Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading the expansion of our program while exemplifying our core values. Your primary objective is to implement, develop, promote, and oversee the Homeshare initiative, ensuring its continual success and establishing a resilient framework for sustained operation well into the future. Your pivotal role revolves around fostering enduring connections and facilitating thriving living arrangements within our community.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, interview, and assess potential Householders and Homesharers, ensuring compatibility and suitability for the program.

  • Uphold safety standards by minimising hazards in accommodations, implementing emergency plans for matches, and ensuring staff are well-versed in occupational health and safety obligations.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and manage program budgets, providing transparent financial analysis and reporting to optimise resource allocation and maintain accountability.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records, manage databases, provide administrative support, attend meetings, and spearhead promotional strategies to enhance community engagement with the Homeshare program.
  • Manage offboarding processes and ensure a smooth transition when necessary.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement within the Homeshare program, working diligently to achieve set business objectives and enhance operations' overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in ongoing self-development, staying abreast of changes affecting your role while upholding legislative requirements and organisational values to ensure optimal performance.

The successful candidate will report to the Community Services Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking an individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, genuine compassion, and extensive experience in community service program delivery, particularly within the realm of housing and support services. They must exhibit unwavering dedication to Vinnies mission and values, actively championing its core principles while steadfastly ensuring the well-being of all program participants.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, health, or a related field, along with at least 3-5 years of experience in community service program development and delivery.

A current (Class C) Driver's License is required, and some out-of-hours work will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory National Police Checks and Medical Assessments.
