About the program

The LLE Authority has been designed to be a sustainable and influential LLE voice that operates and impacts at the governance level of the organisation including on strategic direction and planning, organisation policy and culture, budget, advocacy and research priorities, and organisation performance. The Board expects to learn from, be challenged and held to account by and to work in partnership with the LLE Authority to ensure that governance decisions reflect LLE perspectives.

The LLE Authority will actively connect to LLE voice and expertise across Wellways' programs and service and all states and territories in which Wellways operates.

About the opportunity

The LLE Authority is in its formative stages and the Senior LLE Authority Support Officer will play a critical role in enabling and supporting the LLE Authority in its establishment, and early development phases, and in shaping and delivering on the full range of its roles and responsibilities, as well as in determining its own self-governance processes.

The LLE Authority Support Officer is expected to have lived experience and work from a LLE perspective bringing to the role an innovative and creative mindset as well as substantial project management experience and a deep understanding of governance/advisory functions.

The role will work closely with and report to the Co-Chairs of the LLE Authority and using their lived experience and engage in collaborative relationships with the National Manager Advocacy and Lived Experience Leadership and the LLE Governance Support Officer.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Lived experience in and knowledge of the mental health and/or disability sectors
• Proven capacity to put Lived Experience at the centre and forefront of thinking, decision making and writing
• The capacity to work from a Lived Experience lens and perspective
• Ability to write and develop reports, policies and other documents that are accessible and, potentially, in a variety of non-traditional formats
• A demonstrated understanding of discrimination and importance of the inclusion of a diverse range of voices

Other essential requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Right to work within Australia
• Current valid Driver's Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
• Satisfactory National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check
