About the role

We have a part-time (full-time negotiable) opportunity available for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a particular interest in neurology, and a passion for seeing people achieve their goals. This position offers the opportunity to grow your leadership skills, including the provision of supervision and support to the Occupational Therapy team in our central hub, students on placement and contribute to service development. Based mostly in our Central Rewire hub in the CBD, this role will provide flexible delivery of services according to client need, in the community, people’s homes and within the hub environment.

Co-located with an experienced team including speech pathologists, physiotherapists, psychologists and counsellors, this opportunity allows you to continue to develop your professional skills whilst benefitting from an inter-disciplinary environment.

We are an organisation working with the multiple facets of brain injury and other neurological conditions and as a result our services deliver to a group of people and their families that is very diverse in age and need. We provide services under a variety of funding streams, including the NDIS.

This role will involve:

  • Providing evidence-based practice to clients with a range of neurological conditions, supporting them to meet their personalised goals in both individual and group settings
  • Working as a close-knit team to develop sound Neurological clinical skills
  • Supervising students in their clinical skill development through our innovative BISA Connect student program
  • Ensuring standards, efficiency and effectiveness are maintained in all services provided

Occupational Therapy support and supervision is available from highly experienced staff, alongside professional development opportunities including in-house specialist training and organisational days.

Skills and experience

The Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for the provision of service to a community-based adult caseload with acquired brain injury and must hold current registration with AHPRA.

We are looking for someone with at least 2 years post graduate experience working with neurological clients or a minimum of 4 years experience with broad experience in Occupational Therapy practice.
