OUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Youth Care and After Hours to join our Out of Home Care Team. If you are waiting to give back, be part of an engaged and energised workforce than this opportunity might be for you!

Cafs operates Youth Care homes in Ballarat. We strive to provide a home-like environment for children and young people who have been placed in our care by Child Protection Services. Our Youth Care program supports young people as they prepare to return to their parents or other types of care, such as foster care or kinship care. Each home is run by a qualified team that works hard to provide their young residents with a safe, healthy, and positive lifestyle in the local community.

Cafs After Hours Service is a critical, responsive, and high quality 7-day support service that all Cafs clients in Out of Home Care, their carers and Cafs Children’s Contact Services are provided out of normal business hours as required. This service is an extension of service delivery to always support our most vulnerable people in the community.

The Team Leader provides direct supervision for House Supervisors, an Advanced Practitioner, including the Advanced Practitioner After Hours, the After-Hours Practitioners and the casual pool of After Hours Practitioners who support a team of Youth Care Practitioners in the provision of 24 hour 7 days a week residential care and support.

The Team Leader Youth Care works collaboratively across Cafs Youth and Out of Home Care programs and works closely with Cafs Therapeutic Lead to ensure the provision of consistent, high quality and (TBRI) focused therapeutic care in a safe, secure, and nurturing home environment. The aim is to support children and young people in Cafs’ care to lead a flourishing life.

Key skills and attributes:

• You have a strong desire to deliver good outcomes for young people.
• You have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in trauma informed principles and approaches.
• You are confident in recommending, designing and implementing new procedures and processes
• Your highly developed cultural awareness and sensitivity, partnered with excellent communication skills, will enable you to build strong relationships, with our stakeholders.
• Alignment to Cafs values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Kindness & Innovation

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary Diploma or above level qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Services, Psychology or other relevant field.
