Mindful Men

About Mindful Men:

Established in 2022, Mindful Men redefines therapy for boys and men in Australia. Not only do we have the book smarts, but also the street smarts as we draw from our own lived experience. Our unique perspective on men’s health and wellbeing allows us to authentically meet men where they are at; and offer them a safe place to share, heal and grow into mindful men!

Our unconventional approach takes therapy beyond clinics, offering sessions in home and community settings. A blend of casual, relaxed and professional, our methods resonate with the way our clients prefer to receive support.

By joining Mindful Men, you will become part of a community embracing men’s health and wellbeing. Here you will be able to merge your therapy skills with personal experiences and creativity. If you have lived experience, this is the place for you. We're about authentic connections, not just therapy; and believe shared experiences creates impactful change.

About The Role:

We are seeking a social worker, psychologist or counsellor ready to join our team at Mindful Men. You don’t need to identify as a male to work with us, but you must be driven to make a meaningful impact on the lives of boys and men.

The position is based in the North Brisbane/Moreton Bay (QLD) areas, with flexible working arrangements on offer. As a mobile therapy business, most of our work is completed on the road or at home; however we do have a clinical space available if needed. The initial offer will be part-time (ongoing or as a contractor), with the potential to job share, or go full-time in the future.

Our services are conducted via telehealth (Australia-wide) or in person between North Brisbane and Moreton Bay (so you will need to be able to travel within these areas). This includes occasional travel to the Sunshine Coast where our head office is. Whilst we’re on the road a lot, we’re also mindful about supporting our team’s wellbeing. So if you’re after a tailored work schedule, let’s talk this through.

As our newest team member, you will provide personalised therapy services in-person and via telehealth. Clients may be privately paying, NDIS participants or have a Mental Health Care Plan. Your work includes conducting intake sessions, regular therapy sessions, and managing case notes and reports.

You will also have a valued role in expanding our community reach, which may include representing Mindful Men at events and meetings. Moreover, you'll provide valuable insights and expertise to help us shape our future. We have plans to introduce group programs, training sessions, and community engagement initiatives; and your expertise, insights, and passion will help us to bring our vision to life.

Our diverse client group seeks support in various areas, including mental health, disability, addiction, relationships, parenting, and work-related challenges. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate experience in providing therapeutic support across these domains.

This is a newly created role, and so the ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running. You’ll be great at networking, creating referral opportunities and most importantly – supporting boys and men to grow mindfully! Supervision will be available either internally or externally.
