Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is a secular, community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations who have been providing services to the Victorian community for over 75 years. Open Place is a support service for ‘Forgotten Australians’/Victorian pre 1990 Care Leavers and coordinates and provides direct assistance to address the needs and issues of people who grew up in ‘care’. Open Place helps people to deal with the legacy of their childhood experiences and to support them to improve their health and wellbeing.

The role

Reporting to Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include ensuring the centre provides an efficient, welcoming first point of contact for service users and stakeholders. You will supervise the administrative team, including conducting performance planning reviews and coordinating the timely screening, allocation and referrals of service user requests. You will also support the management of the brokerage fund (i.e., monitoring of fund limits, liaising with providers and budget approvals) including analysis and reporting to management expenditure and budget forecasts.

This opportunity is located in Richmond at our Bromham – Open Place Centre and is a permanent full-time position.

About you

  • Have a sensitive non-judgmental attitude and be responsive to the needs of service users.
  • Commitment to working with disadvantaged community members, particularly adults who grew up in institutional care in Victoria and an ability to listen with empathy and compassion and to manage stressful information.
  • Certificate, Diploma in administrative/secretarial studies or equivalent.
  • Several years’ experience working in a busy administrative office (preferable), with the ability to supervise other administration staff’s day to day work requirements.

The base salary range is $85k-$87k per annum.
