Care Worker - Kitchen Hand - Garden Suburb

About our facility

Uniting Garden Suburb has 3 separate households, each with between 25–30 residents. This includes a secure household for people living with dementia or mental health illness. Your Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable. 

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Carer for Hotel services support, you’ll provide quality, timely and effective kitchen duties for residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.  This role is working 4 days per week (up to 60 hours per fortnight) on a permanent part time basis with a start date of mid June.  

Your care work may include:

  • Working as a kitchen hand/relief cook in our aged care facility.
  • Paying attention to personal safety and risk management for you and our residents by using appropriate manual handling techniques and food safety.
  • Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have at least 2 years recent experience in a similar position (catering / kitchenhand or cook)
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
