<p>We are seeking a dedicated academic leader for the role of <strong>Discipline Lead in Counselling</strong> who is passionate about their field and guiding their campus academic staff who are teaching the next generation of counsellors. You will be a member of relevant professional associations, including PACFA, ACA, CICA, or ICF, with strong industry and education experience. This is an ongoing full-time role.</p>

<li>You'll be responsible for for ensuring the program delivery for your discipline on the campus is in accordance with regulatory and professional accreditation standards.</li>
<li>You'll play a key role in our developing our counselling educator team, contributing to the creation of world class teaching programs that are endorsed by TEQSA and meet ACA, CICA, ICF accreditation standards.</li>
<li>You'll mix and collaborate with the Assistant Dean and Discipline Chair to plan and manage resources for the program delivery on the campus, including recruitment and onboarding of discipline academic staff.</li>
<li>You'll facilitate effective communication between local discipline academic staff and key stakeholders, including the Assistant Deans, Campus Manager and students.</li>
<li>You'll contribute to academic administration of the discipline's programs on the campus, including student results and implementation of academic policies and procedures.</li>
<li>You'll develop and review innovative Course and Unit materials, and support discipline academic staff in these tasks.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Your qualifications and experience:</h3>
<ul>
<li>A postgraduate qualifications from an appropriate cognate discipline, ideally a PhD in a relevant discipline.</li>
<li>Extensive experience working in a Tertiary Education institution.</li>
<li>Excellent scholarly and/or industry expertise.</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant academic and professional accreditation standards.</li>
<li>Prior experience in an academic leadership role (ideally)</li>
</ul>

Discipline Lead - Counselling

Full Time

<h3><strong>About the role</strong></h3>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">We are seeking a number of dedicated sessional Counselling lecturers who are passionate about their field and teaching the next generation of professionals.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Sessional Lecturers must be willing to teach on-campus and online at one of our campuses in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Byron Bay and Perth. Classes can include tutorials, intensive workshops, and recorded lectures in addition to engaging with students through online forums. They will also be required to mark assignments and perform and administrative tasks associated with the classes they teach.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">Sessional Lecturers will be engaged on a full-time or part-time basis for a specified period. In exceptional circumstances, they may be required to assume the role of Unit Coordinator.</p>
<p style="font-weight: 400;">The sessional Counselling Lecturers will teach into undergraduate programs (AQF 7) and, where an established record of relevant professional experience is evidenced, postgraduate programs (AQF 8-9). Sessional Lecturers will normally work with guidance from permanent academic staff.</p>
<h3><strong>Essential qualifications for the candidates</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>A Counselling qualification or a qualification from an appropriate cognate discipline, at least Masters, and preferably Doctorate, Level (PhD candidates will be considered)</li>
<li>Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association such as PACFA, ACA, or equivalent.</li>
</ul>
