Play2Learn+ is an early childhood school readiness program, which aims to improve child development and school engagement. In this key role, we need you to help implement and develop the program, making sure we maximise its impact. Where you come in:

In this part-time permanent role (30.4 hours per week), you'll facilitate child-focused activities that support the emotional, physical and cognitive development of young children. Specifically, you will work with three- and four-year-olds and their families to ensure they meet their developmental milestones and make a successful transition to Kindergarten. Working across both Devonport and Launceston, you'll report to our Team Leader -Play2Learn+.

You will make an impact by:

• Supporting children to engage positively in education
• Supporting children to reach their full potential and build sustainable support networks and connection to community
• Empowering parents and caregivers to support their child's engagement in education
• Building and maintaining strong networks, service delivery partnerships, and referral pathways
• Collecting and recording data and information for accountability, evaluation, and reporting

Does this sound like you?

You're a highly flexible early childhood practitioner who is calm under pressure and loves to have a positive impact working with young children and their families. You have a deep understanding of the importance of the "early years" and child development, including experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma. Most importantly, you have a strong sense of empathy and an infectious enthusiasm for your job.

This role requires:

• Demonstrated community sector and early childhood experience
• Demonstrated experience in working alongside families, using a partnership, strengths-based and family-centred approach
• Understanding of relevant Federal and State child protection legislation
• Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to advocate on behalf of families
• Experience developing strong referral pathways within community and education sectors
• Diploma in Early Childhood (or a related field), or progress towards, with some experience in a community service setting
