More Than Support was founded and is owned by medical doctors and professionals and operates out of Melbourne, Victoria and Brisbane and Gold Coast, Queensland. We are seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our Melbourne team. The position will work in a dynamic environment, providing an integrated and flexible model of care to our participants. This care can involve in-home care, community access and companionship. This role provides experience in direct client care, flexible working hours, an inclusive and vibrant community, training and professional development and a rewarding career. This is a causal position that provides flexible shifts that can work around your schedule. Our base rate is $31 - $36 per hour + superannuation.
Provide physical support, which may include helping participants with household tasks, meal preparation and meal assistance.
Social support, including accompanying participants to appointments, and engaging in social activities.
Assistance with personal care: showering, grooming and medication assistance.
Encouraging and supporting the development of a participant’s personal interests through hobbies and community activities.
Liaising with a team of specialists to assist the participant in following routines and recommendations as part of their therapy.
Caring and compassionate attitude
Responsible and respectful towards participants, their families and other support workers
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team within a diverse community
Good organisation and time management skills
Fluent in English and other languages are welcome
Previous experience in the community sector or working with people with a disability preferred
