We seek a woman with lived experience of HIV (a positive HIV diagnosis) to join a small team providing peer support for Positive Women Victoria (PWV).
PWV is a not-for-profit organisation providing peer support and advocacy for women living with HIV.
In a peer support role, people living with HIV provide emotional assistance, guidance, and information to other people living with HIV (peers), particularly through sharing aspects of their own lived experience. Peer support aims to build connections, reduce isolation and stigma, increase confidence and self-esteem, share knowledge, and support people to access care and services.
The role entails working with members and clients of PWV to help them to develop strategies and pathways to support wellbeing, and to facilitate connections to service providers other women living with HIV.
It is not a counselling role or a social work role.
