About the role

We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team on a permanent part-time basis as a Clinical Nurse Educator. The successful applicant will form an integral part of a multidisciplinary team on the Brain Injury Unit.

The successful applicant will provide expert clinical knowledge, teaching, assessment and support for all levels of nursing staff. The CNE has a role in the provision of hospital orientation; mandatory training programs; nursing in-services and special events. The CNE will be engaged in clinical education activities for 80% of their time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, lead, coordinate and implement all structured learning for nurses at Royal Rehab Brain Injury Unit
  • Clinical teaching, skills accreditation and professional development support for both nursing staff and students
  • Mandatory training compliance
  • Participate in delivery of hospital orientation

About you

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual that meets the below criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Post registration qualifications in brain injuries or rehabilitation nursing or 5 years’ experience working in brain injury nursing.
  • Qualification in Workplace Assessment and Training (or working towards)
  • Demonstrated evidence of clinical teaching
  • Excellent communication skills and solid interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated high level computer skills. – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated use of evidenced based practice

Desirable Criteria:

  • Holds relevant tertiary qualifications in Nurse Education
