Scope of role

Managing the relocation and settlement process of the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement Pilot - a visa program in partnership with Talent Beyond Boundaries and the Australian Government to move 200 employer sponsored refugees and their families to Australia in 2021 and 2022.

We are seeking an experienced case-manager who can manage multiple stakeholder groups to deliver successful settlement and employment outcomes for our international refugee recruitment program.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a detailed understanding of the settlement needs for each new recruit & family (done remotely before the family travels to Australia);
  • Liaising with recruiting businesses to identify what support they can provide to relocating candidates and family members, and supporting businesses to make smart choices about relocation support;
  • Identifying and building relationships with a portfolio of relocation and settlement service providers that can meet the needs of refugees moving on labour pathways, including humanitarian settlement service provider, private relocation providers, community sponsor groups and other organisations, in response to their needs;
  • Creating a Settlement Service Agreement (SSA) between new arrivals, the employer and suitable service providers, including service price and quality specifications regarding relocation logistics, accommodation, welcome and orientation and access to essential services;
  • Monitoring implementation of the agreed SSA, with a particular focus on ensuring service quality and customer satisfaction; and
  • Reporting to the sponsoring business/funding organisations on outcomes achieved;
  • Managing post placement support of families and employers;
  • Conducting data collection, monitoring and evaluation of the Skilled Refugee Labour Agreement Pilot, including reporting on quantitative metrics and conducting feedback surveys with candidates and employers.

Key relationships

  • Reports to Australia and New Zealand Director
  • Works in close collaboration with ANZ Business Development and Operations Manager, ANZ Program Officer, and ANZ Recruitment Manager.

Key skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a diverse cultural environment
  • Understanding of the Australian refugee settlement sector including deep knowledge of refugee settlement and migration policy
  • Exceptional organisational, multi-tasking and project management skills
  • High resilience and compassion
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic work environment
  • Strong computer literacy and willingness to use/learn a range of tools including Salesforce, Slack, Google Suite, Zoom
  • Fluency in English

Experience

  • At least 3 years' experience working with people of refugee and migrant backgrounds in Australia - at least some of which in case management or refugee employment
  • Demonstrated capacity to foster positive relationships with a range of different stakeholders, such as non-profit organisations, community groups and businesses.

Desirable

  • Lived experience of displacement
  • Additional language skills (Arabic, Dari or Spanish preferred)
