Social Reinvestment WA (SRWA) is an Aboriginal led state-wide coalition of 31 non-profits, campaigning since 2016 to end the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in WA’s justice system.
Our work includes leading a successful campaign to end imprisonment for unpaid fines; producing the podcast “Stories from the Inside”; Supporting communities developing place-based Justice Reinvestment sites including Olabud Doogethu in Halls Creek; Advocacy and policy work, particularly on youth justice issues. We are currently leading the campaign to Raise the Age of criminal responsibility from 10 to at least 14 in WA.
Reporting to the Social Reinvestment WA Manager, you will be responsible for the development and execution of SRWA communications; develop responsive policy positions, media releases, briefing notes and responsible for all formal correspondence. You will maintain relations with media, ongoing communication with SRWA stakeholders and support communities leading justice reinvestment responses to communicate their work.
