We are currently seeking a Team Leader to join our Client Services team to help manage, guide and mentor the staff within the National Dementia Helpline. This role will provide support and leadership to those providing telephone and web-based information, brief counselling and support services regarding dementia and memory loss to people living with dementia and members of their care network, the general public and health professionals.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, Service Operations you will also be responsible for:

  • Leading, managing and supporting the National Dementia Helpline team and day to day operations to ensure a coordinated, consistent and high-quality approach to service delivery
  • Coordinating activities of the program to ensure optimum efficiency and an accurate reflection of provided funding.
  • Evaluating and reporting on program outcomes in line with the relevant service agreements and the requirements of the funding bodies.
  • Developing and fostering positive and strong team relationships within Dementia Australia, including national colleagues and across all departments.

To be successful in this role you will be a team player, show an absolute commitment to the delivery of high quality dementia services and support and meet the key selection criteria outlined below.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in team leadership including mentoring and developing people in a positive inclusive manner across multiple locations.
  • Experience in overseeing a service delivery team in a community, health or disability service setting (experience in leadership in a contact centre environment will be highly regarded)
  • A understanding of Dementia, Dementia Care, and relevant Services Systems, including My Aged Care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Knowledge and past experience leading a quality improvement culture
  • A high level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and negotiate with others.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline (health/allied health/social services sector) or previous experience supervising contact centre teams.
