The Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) is a not-for-profit organisation that partners education with business through the development and delivery of unique workplace experiences for students from high-needs schools. Entirely business-funded and based on a membership model, ABCN is made up of over 40 member companies that represent a breadth of industries and include well-recognised, national and global organisations. We are led by an experienced body of CEOs who actively participate in business and education partnerships and support their employees to do the same. Together we share a common vision to create positive change in the community.
Our focus is to improve opportunities and outcomes for disadvantaged students, partnering with business to inspire students to reach their potential. This is achieved through the development of structured programs that involve business professionals mentoring students in a digital and corporate environment to help students develop the skills, mindsets, aspirations and professional connections to achieve sustainable employment long-term.
Traditionally, ABCN’s programs have been delivered face-to-face in our Member Companies offices. As part of ABCN’s COVID response, ABCN fast-tracked the development and implementation of digital mentoring programs, to complement our face-to-face mentoring version, and going forward we foresee programs being blended i.e. both face-to-face and digital.
To support program delivery, we are looking for a number of facilitators that can deliver programs in both face-to-face and digital mode. The facilitator is responsible for delivery of program content, the management of the students’ and mentors’ experience during each session, and for digital programs, having an understanding of video conferencing platforms to be able to manage technical issues as they arise. Note that nearly all our digital programs will have a Digital Concierge for part of each session as well to help with technical set up.
Face-to-face Delivery
Programs facilitated face-to-face are paid at the rate of $50 per hour (ex GST) and will include:
Payment ranges from $150 to $225, depending on the specific program.
Digital Delivery
Programs facilitated as a digital program are paid at the rate of $120 per session (ex GST). The sessions are between 90 minutes and two hours online contact time so the payment includes any set up or debriefing of the session.
The payment structure is based on the facilitator invoicing ABCN. We are still finalising level of work but would expect successful candidates to be available to facilitate at least 2 - 4 sessions per week.
Individuals will be required to participate in online training before starting the role which will be paid at $50 per hour (ex GST).
