About us

Autism Behavioural Intervention Association (ABIA) is the peak body for all things autism. The mission of the organisation is to advocate for better therapies and services for those on the autism spectrum, supported by a range of training advice and courses .

We have a strong public voice for fact-based therapies and support services for those on the autism spectrum and their families. We provide thought leadership, drive policy development, influence industry change and build philanthropic support.

about the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed marketing and communications specialist to work closely with the CEO to deliver the brand, marketing and communications expertise necessary to promote and profile the services that ABIA provides.

You will be responsible for championing the broad range of marketing and communications activities designed to profile and communicate the purpose, objectives and events that ABIA delivers to the community.

These activities include:

  1. Content creation
  2. Social media execution
  3. Event management
  4. Fundraising-related campaign activity.

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Role

  • Review and articulate the marketing and communications strategy for the organisation.
  • Implement the marketing and communications strategy including:-
  • Collaboration with staff and CEO of ABIA
  • Developing content for conferences and events
  • Presenting and gaining approval for content prior to publishing
  • Participating actively in projects and other sub-committees as required and provide other business assistance as required
  • Participating in staff Meeting
  • Manage, attend and co-ordinate events and conferences (global)

Selection Criteria

  • Degree in communications marketing and/or public relations
  • Past experience with social media management and other social media platforms
  • Experience with executive global conferences and rebranding would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in a not for profit organisation, disability or children's service sector would be highly regarded
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • A WWCC is required as a condition of employment.
