Acquired Brain Injury Services Ltd is a specialist not-for-profit support service for people with an acquired brain injury in the Metropolitan Area of Sydney, Central Coast, and Central West of NSW. We have been operating for 30 years and our team has extensive knowledge of working with people who have an Acquired Brain Injury or Traumatic Brain Injury.

About the role:

We seek a suitably qualified Support Coordinator to fill this role within our busy Support Coordination team. The position is offered on a permanent full-time basis and we are located in Auburn, NSW 2144.

The Support Coordinator is responsible for working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered participants who have an acquired brain injury and their families. The Support Coordinator will manage a flexible caseload of NDIS participants.

The Ideal Candidate:

We require a multi-skilled person who likes a challenge to achieve quality outcomes for our clients. This position would suit someone who has Support Coordination experience and is ready to hit the ground running.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with SIL/SDA participants, extensive knowledge of the NDIS and its functions.

Candidates working in the Community Sector in a similar role are also welcome to apply. Candidates should be personable, approachable, and have an understanding of Acquired Brain Injury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requires traveling to all areas within the metropolitan area of Sydney. You need your own motor vehicle where mileage reimbursement will occur. A laptop and mobile phone will be supplied.
  • Extensive experience of NDIS systems and processes
  • Understanding of NDIS client goals and the ability to match and implement supports
  • Able to be open-minded, flexible and explore creative ways to meet client’s individual support needs
  • Extensive Community Sector Knowledge
  • Demonstrated networking skills and ability to develop networks within the disability industry
  • Ability to develop a good rapport with clients and relevant stakeholders.
  • Possess experience in the provision of quality community services for people with disabilities
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Computer literate.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of NDIS housing with Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  • Experience in providing support or services for people with an ABI.
  • Experience in NDIS support coordination

Conditions:

  • Valid NSW Driver license and use of a registered vehicle. (On-site parking available)
  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check and/or NDIS Workers Check
  • Valid National Police Check.

Salary:

  • An attractive salary is offered to the right person on a negotiable basis.
