Aboriginal Caseworker - Family Preservation

Our Client is a multi-faceted organisation that works with vulnerable children and families. The early intervention program prevents families from entering or escalating into the child protection system. This model includes coaching and mentoring parents, working under a behaviour change model, using a therapeutic approach to build the parents capacity and problem-solving skills.

This role will involve;

  • Maintain a caseload of 8-10 families, including conducting regular home visits
  • Use reflective practice and regularly engage in Group Supervision with the team
  • Work with the leadership team to develop, implement, maintain and consistently review an evidence-informed practice model
  • Work in collaboration with families and other stakeholders to develop plans to address identified Risk of Harm and Risk of Significant Harm concerns
  • Work in a coaching and mentoring role for parents

The requirements for this role include:

  • Aboriginality
  • Diploma in Community Services or relevant
  • At least 2 years’ casework experience
  • Cultural competence and experience working with CALD and Aboriginal families
  • Understanding of child protection legislation
  • Current driver’s licence
