About the Role

Barnardos are looking for 1x full-time permanent and 1x 6 month contract Case Manager for the Carer Recruitment Program based at the Barnardos Centre in Homebush, NSW.

Reporting to the Manager – the Case Manager, will;

  • Undertake a range of carer recruitment, training and assessment activities in response to NSW carer enquiries
  • Perform all carer recruitment and authorised carer management processes in line with Barnardos policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements, OCG standards and NSW legislative and compliance (NSW Carers Register) obligations
  • Fulfil a support role in responding to NSW OOHC placement referrals (internal and external) according to relevant procedures and systems ensuring appropriate intake, triage, initial matching and placement processes are actioned
  • Progress carer applications for authorised foster, kinship and dual authorised prospective adoptive parents in a timely manner employing competency and evidence-based assessment practice delivering high quality carer assessment reports
  • Provide direct supervision, support, initial/ongoing carer training for carer applicants, authorised carers, and, prospective adoptive parents

About You

To be successful in the Case Manager role, you will ideally have;

  • Tertiary degree level qualification in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of current practices in OOHC in NSW
  • Experience in OOHC related work, carer recruitment, training and assessment, or OOHC Placement Referral Management
  • Knowledge of relevant NSW child protection and related legislation including Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection Act) 1998 (NSW) and Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012 (NSW); Adoption Act 2000 (NSW) and Adoption Regulation 2015 (NSW)

Salary: Base $66,393 to $82,571 plus leave loading plus superannuation. Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
