About the Role

Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Early Childhood Teacher for the Barnardos Early Learning Centre based in Ultimo, Sydney. Reporting to the Centre Director, the Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Providing active leadership to Educators and Room Leaders in the development, implementation and evaluation of a child-focused education and care curriculum
  • Contributing to the management of and supports the professional learning of staff

About You

To be successful in the Early Childhood Teacher role, you will ideally have:

  • Approved Early Childhood Teacher qualification.
  • Child protection qualification approved by the relevant State Regulatory body.
  • First aid qualification that is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) that includes applying first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis management.
  • A willingness to be appointed as a Responsible Person.
  • 2 years experience as an Early Childhood Teacher in a childcare centre.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and documenting children’s learning.
  • A willingness to be appointed as a Nominated Supervisor.

Barnardos offers a base salary, plus leave loading, plus superannuation. Salary packaging is available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging is available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
