About the Role

Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Senior Manager for the Permanent Care Program. The position has flexibility to be based from either our Sydney Central, Western Sydney, Central Coast or Illawarra office, noting travel required to ensure equitable coverage of the Permanent Care Program and attendance at Bay Street, Ultimo.

Reporting to the General Manager – OOHC NSW, the Senior Manager, Permanent Care will be responsible for;

  • Ensuring delivery of a quality Permanent Care Program (OOHC) in NSW, including through a robust quality assurance system (with Practice Quality).
  • Ensuring quality risk identification, assessment, mitigation and review of the Permanent Care Program.
  • Exercising decision-making control over employees, salaries, training and retention of personnel in line with organisational policy and in conjunction with GM OOHC NSW and People & Culture Portfolio.

About You

To be successful in the Senior Manager role, you will ideally have:

  • Tertiary degree level qualification in a Human Services or related field.
  • Knowledge of care and protection legislation and practice regarding permanency outcomes for children in OOHC.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in child and family welfare and in foster care or a related area of alternate care for children.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of permanency planning.
  • Strong advocacy skills with regards to children referred to and serviced by the Adoption and Permanent Care programs.
  • Experience in team leadership and program management, staff supervision, program planning and review.

Barnardos offers a base salary, plus leave loading, plus superannuation. Salary packaging is available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging is available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
