This role will be expected to engage Aboriginal Community controlled organisations and develop meaningful relationships providing Practice support that will influence sector development. The project officer will liaise with stakeholders internally and externally including government agencies as necessary to advocate for and deliver projects against intended results.

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Aboriginality with a demonstrated commitment to embedding Aboriginal cultural perspectives in all aspects of service delivery and implementation of AbSec Growth and Partnership program
• Demonstrated experience in delivering projects and resources in the non-government sector
• Knowledge of the non-government sector especially related to the Aboriginal Out-of-Home-Care and child protection
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written, and to meet tight timeframes within a demanding environment.
• Understanding of, and ability to respond to, the accountability requirements of DCJ funding
• Demonstrated ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders and funding bodies at all levels
• Experience in developing and implementing a project through comprehensive project management plans.
• Ability to design and implement project monitoring and reporting systems to ensure effectiveness in project delivery and evaluation
