Located in Port Macquarie, Many Rivers Regional Housing (Many Rivers) is a leading not-for-profit provider of Aboriginal community housing services, providing property management services for around 450 properties and support for the needs of tenants.

Reporting to the Manager Service Development you will be responsible for developing strategic communications on behalf of Many Rivers. The key objectives of the role include:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications on behalf of Many Rivers;
  • Raise Many Rivers’ public profile and promote understanding of our objectives and activities both internally and externally;
  • Oversee all social media and website delivery;
  • Managing branding and build relationships with key media contacts 

To thrive in this role, you will be passionate about storytelling and developing and implementing effective, multi-channel communications strategies and campaigns. If you also have:

  • Understanding of the principles of brand marketing, with experience in promoting a consistent brand experience in media relations.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal communities and their communication preferences.
  • Ability to independently manage social media profiles and grow audience engagement.
  • Experience working in media, marketing or communications, preferably for an Aboriginal organisation, not-for-profit or community services organisation 
  • Experience utilising digital content software, marketing software platforms, video editing and special effects and digital production. 
  • Excellent production and editing abilities which can be presented through a variety of formats 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple formats, targeted to diverse audiences.

The role is an Aboriginal designated position. You must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply under section 14 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Proof or confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage will be required from the successful applicant.

This position is a  part-time position 22.8 hours per week.

Appointment to this position will be subject to a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check (or vulnerable persons check).
