We are seeking a dedicated academic leader for the role of Discipline Lead in Counselling who is passionate about their field and guiding their campus academic staff who are teaching the next generation of counsellors. You will be a member of relevant professional associations, including PACFA, ACA, CICA, or ICF, with strong industry and education experience. This is an ongoing full-time role.

  • You'll be responsible for for ensuring the program delivery for your discipline on the campus is in accordance with regulatory and professional accreditation standards.
  • You'll play a key role in our developing our counselling educator team, contributing to the creation of world class teaching programs that are endorsed by TEQSA and meet ACA, CICA, ICF accreditation standards.
  • You'll mix and collaborate with the Assistant Dean and Discipline Chair to plan and manage resources for the program delivery on the campus, including recruitment and onboarding of discipline academic staff.
  • You'll facilitate effective communication between local discipline academic staff and key stakeholders, including the Assistant Deans, Campus Manager and students.
  • You'll contribute to academic administration of the discipline's programs on the campus, including student results and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
  • You'll develop and review innovative Course and Unit materials, and support discipline academic staff in these tasks.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • A postgraduate qualifications from an appropriate cognate discipline, ideally a PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience working in a Tertiary Education institution.
  • Excellent scholarly and/or industry expertise.
  • Knowledge of relevant academic and professional accreditation standards.
  • Prior experience in an academic leadership role (ideally)

  • A communications connector who can build relationships throughout all levels of staff at the the college
