About the Role

The Community Employment Program Caseworker is a vital position within ACSL. The purpose of this position is to manage a specific program within the Access Employment and Training Division. The role will be responsible for the engagement of participants through a unique referral pipeline, intensive case management, training needs analysis and identification, employer engagement and employment placement as well as post program support of the participants once they have been placed into sustainable employment. The role will be responsible for the delivery a Skilling Queenslanders for work Program (SQW), and business engagement programs which support the associated programs and drive employment outcomes for participants that are engaged in the SQW program.

It will entail liaising with Department of Employment, Small Business and Training representatives and other Government departments and agencies as well as other community organisations and providers to ensure that the delivery of the program are as per the contract that Access hold with either the department other service providers. Previous experiences in delivery of Government funded programs especially programs that target employment support for participants with varying and complex needs is highly regarded.

The role will also include, business development with employers; Corporate, Small to medium enterprises and or Government and non-government agencies.

Sound written and verbal communications, time management and administration skills are essential, as you will be required to produce accurate and up to date reporting for government bodies and other agencies.

Working in a team environment, which supports the social enterprise group to develop new economic participation programs that align with the ACSL strategic direction.

The person successful in this role must have the ability, throughout the duration of the program and post program support, to support, mentor and guide program participants, on a one to one basis, to resolve any issues or barriers that they may have to education, training and employment requirements.

A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders and clients, who can have diverse and challenging behaviours. All of which will ensure positive and long term employment outcomes. ·

You will need experience/competence in the following;

  • Experience in employer engagement and employment placement
  • Case management of clients with varying complexity
  • Ability to undertake a training needs analysis with clients
  • Industry qualifications would be viewed favourably 
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Aptitude for innovation and initiative 
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer/client services and continuous improvement strategies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using current MS Office, database application and communication technologies
  • Ability to present to large audiences and deliver training and presentations
