About ACECQA

ACECQA, the national authority for the children's education and care sector, is offering a number of national policy roles at senior officer and manager levels, both short-term and ongoing.

These roles provide excellent opportunities to demonstrate your skills in working with government partners on developing and implementing national policy and legislation in the children's education and care sector.

There are also opportunities to support ACECQA's role in reviewing quality rating decisions of government partners and projects which enhance the quality rating system in the sector.

The Role

The Senior Officer, Quality Rating Review manages the effective, efficient and consistent delivery of ACECQA's second tier quality rating review functions under the Education and Care Services National Law.

This role is full time for a fixed term of up to 12 months at ACECQA Band 5 ($89,507 - $109,067). We welcome applications from any location in Australia, where appropriate remote working arrangements can be facilitated, noting some travel to ACECQA's Sydney office will be required.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise complex concepts and issues, and prepare succinct written advice that supports quality decision making.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across audiences.
  • Proven ability in customer service in a complex operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective teamwork skills, including a proven ability to contribute to the success of a project or team and provide guidance to team members, as required.
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, the Education and Care Services legislation, and contemporary practice in education and care quality assessment.

While not essential, the following attributes will greatly assist you in the role:

  • Children's education and care qualification/s and/or a working knowledge of education and care service delivery.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, regulatory processes or administrative decision-making.
