The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Position

We have an opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join the College in a pivotal role as IT Infrastructure and Applications Manager.

The main focus of the role is to lead the Infrastructure unit and oversee all aspects of College Information Systems; the operation of the Information and Communications Technology; and the execution of the ICT strategy that drives value added outcomes for the College and its members.

This role is a key partner to the organisation as it will also be responsible for providing high quality support to ACEM staff and technical assistance to users of ACEM systems.

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team, including an ability to lead, build, engage and motivate teams
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server, client operating systems, Office package, including Office 365, networking, TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP.
  • Demonstrated experience with Web, Web Application Firewalls and Internet technologies particularly Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare.
  • Demonstrated experience with VMware
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in AWS Linux server administration and BASH scripting.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, coupled with an ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timelines.
  • Experience in managing multiple vendors and service providers to deliver infrastructure services according to contract.
  • A strong understanding of IT security, including business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • A Customer service centric mindset and work collaboratively with stakeholders to troubleshoot, problem solve and deliver solutions
