Who is the ACF?

When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.

We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.

Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania’s forests or koalas snoozing in big old trees, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.

What’s the gig?

The Digital Campaigner plays an essential role in developing and communicating powerful opportunities for people across the country to take action to address the climate and extinction crises.

Creating compelling content, actions and online events across campaigns, they work to build people’s skills and confidence to take actions that effect change nationally – influencing decision-makers and shifting the national debate.

They craft motivating stories, turning complex information about policy, technology, science and politics into accessible content that enables thousands of people to take action. They collaborate with campaigners, community organisers and core volunteers to develop hard-hitting campaign tactics, then lead on maximising participation via high-quality digital experiences and journeys.

They champion and train others in robust processes for content creation, production and testing so we achieve strong engagement outcomes across our channels. They help shape the day-to-day experience of ACF’s email program through scheduling, audience targeting, and corresponding with the community via public inboxes.

About you!

You’re a sharp, emotive and nuanced writer with a knack for bringing campaign moments to life. You know how to inspire people through written communications to overcome barriers to action and step up participation for impact.

You have an astute eye for detail, and a dedication to high-quality digital experiences across channels, particularly email. You strive for continuous improvement through regular testing and evaluation of your work, and share this with others to improve the team’s impact overall.

You thrive in a working environment where priorities shift quickly, and can jump into action to make the most of any moment. You quickly pick up new digital tools, and love getting the best out of systems to scale participation.

You’re curious and driven by the search for exciting and effective ways to activate people and tell inspiring stories. And you’re committed to building an inclusive and equitable movement where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
