Digital Organiser - Australian Democracy Network - Flexible Location

Australian Conservation Foundation
  • Help grow a new people-powered movement for integrity in #OurDemocracy
  • Part time position until 30 June 2022 with a salary of $78,260 FTE per annum plus 10.5% superannuation and some of the best working conditions
  • Located in: Melbourne (Wurundjeri Country), Brisbane (Yugerra Country), Canberra (Ngunawal Country), or Sydney (Gadigal Country). Negotiable to any other location.

Who is the ADN?

The Australian Democracy Network (ADN) is creating a healthy Australian democracy which puts people and planet first. We bring people and organisations together to campaign for the changes that make our democracy more fair, balanced, transparent, accountable, and participatory. ADN is a project of the Australian Conservation Foundation, in the process of becoming an independent entity.

What’s the gig?

You’ll be joining the #OurDemocracy campaign, building a nation-wide movement of people and organisations who want a healthy Australian democracy which works for everyone, not just for the powerful few.

The Digital Organiser will work closely with the Digital Campaigner and our movement allies to execute powerful, community-driven tactics in the lead up to the next Federal election. Political integrity is a huge issue right now and there’s enormous energy from our community to get involved in the campaign. You’ll be using your organising nous and digital skills to create and execute clear pathways to action for our hungry audience!

The initial contract is until the end of the financial year but we are working to secure funding for this to be extended after ADN incorporates as an independent entity, with a view to making the position permanent.

About you!

You’re an experienced community organiser/mobiliser who understands how to motivate others. You understand people power and are committed to building leadership in our community rather than being at the front of the crowd.

You’re a people person who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone and reach out to a stranger and ask them to take action. You get along with all kinds of people and are genuinely interested in them.

You can write a killer email and have a sharp eye for proof-reading. You’re familiar with the digital tools of our trade or a quick learner when it comes to new tech.

You’re organised, love a good spreadsheet and great at prioritising tasks.

Why work for us?

As an employee of the Australian Conservation Foundation who directly employs the ADN team, you’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.

ACF is proud to offer our staff a supportive workplace with excellent conditions, including:

  • Genuine flexibility in working hours and the opportunity to work regularly from home

  • Four weeks of annual leave a year plus an additional three days off over the Christmas / New Year period

  • Thirty days of personal leave a year (pro-rata) available to use immediately upon commencement

  • Superannuation contribution of 10.5%

  • Eighteen weeks paid parental leave for parents (regardless of who is the birth parent) after 12 months of service

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities tailored to your individual career goals

  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
