Who is the ACF?

When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.

We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.

Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania’s forests or koalas snoozing in big old trees, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.

What’s the gig?

Your role is to coordinate the ACF Fellowship program - our structured learning and volunteering opportunity for grassroots leaders and emerging change agents. These energetic Fellows volunteer 2 days per week for six months in multiple teams across the organisation and your role will be to help induct them, support them, train them and ensure that the next cohort recruited is just as talented and committed. This role will primarily support the cohort we are currently recruiting, but will also recruit the Summer 2022 intake.

About you!

You are super organised and can deliver to a deadline. You have experience with volunteers, their needs and how to best support them. You’re empathetic, diplomatic and can cultivate strong team culture. You have good intuition and know when something isn’t going well, or when someone needs a bit of encouragement. You’re great at managing up and can refer issues that might need to be dealt with.

Why work for us?

ACF is proud to offer our staff a supportive workplace with excellent conditions, including:

  • Genuine flexibility in working hours and the opportunity to work regularly from home
  • Four weeks of annual leave a year plus an additional three days off over the Christmas / New Year period
  • Thirty days of personal leave a year (pro-rata) available to use immediately upon commencement
  • Superannuation contribution of 10.5%
  • Eighteen weeks paid parental leave for parents (regardless of who is the birth parent) after 12 months of service
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities tailored to your individual career goals
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
