When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.
We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.
Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania’s forests or koalas snoozing in big old trees, our dedicated community of over 700,000 supporters are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.
The Mobilisation Coordinator plays an essential role in building and strengthening our movement at this critical time to address the climate and extinction crises. They work to build people’s skills in leading actions that effect change nationally – influencing decision makers and shifting the national debate.
The successful candidate will design and implement hard-hitting tactics to demonstrate community power at key campaign moments. They’ll inspire people to become powerful advocates, developing the content and systems we need to deepen and scale leadership within our national community of volunteers and action-takers. They will run transformational training sessions and events, and foster community in person and online to connect people in action right across the country.
The Mobilisation Coordinator is a key collaborator with allied groups and organisations, representing ACF in cross-movement forums and identifying ways to connect with others to maximise our impact. Behind the scenes, they coordinate systems and processes for a streamlined experience for volunteers, and for ACF to accurately measure its impact.
You know how to bring people together, build rapport and shared purpose within a community, and inspire action towards shared goals. You are a confident facilitator who knows how to get the most out of a group and can inspire people through written communications to step up their involvement in an activity and/or campaign.
You thrive in a working environment where priorities shift quickly and can jump into action to make the most of any moment. You quickly pick up new digital tools and love building systems that can scale and be easily adopted by others. You have a sharp eye for detail, and a dedication to coordinating projects from conception through to evaluation.
You are curious, driven by the search for exciting and effective ways to engage people in advocacy and create bold, inspiring moments in campaigns. And you are committed to building an inclusive and equitable movement where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
You’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and talented team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.
ACF is proud to offer our staff a supportive workplace with excellent conditions, including:
