What’s the gig?

As part of ACF’s campaign help empower and organise staff in some of Australia’s biggest financial institutions to be advocates for change in their workplaces. You will play an integral part in a campaign to shift Australia’s banks and super funds away from investing in coal and gas to increasing their investments in renewable energy, biodiversity protection and industries with a long term clean future.

This role sits within our Economy and Democracy team – a team charged with addressing systemic challenges to help accelerate the achievement of ACF’s climate and nature goals. You will work across the organisation with others members of the Campaigns directorate and with colleagues across other parts of the organisation.

About you!

You have worked as a community or workplace organiser and know the importance of people power to make change. You enjoy working with different type of people and helping them to grow their skills as advocates on issues they care about.

You understand the power that staff have to make change within businesses and are excited to help them make this change. You can see the bigger picture and can apply what you learned on the ground to designing a general strategy and tactics that could be rolled out across different workplaces.

You make good decisions and commit to action even with incomplete information, you use your creativity to overcome problems and come up with innovative solutions that you champion across the organisation.

You enjoy working in a team on a common goal, you like learning new skills and enjoy celebrating shared success. You love bringing people together behind an idea and using your expertise and theirs to make it work.

You know that the voices of all types of people are required to win our campaigns and you’re committed to building an inclusive and equitable movement where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
