  • A salary ranging from Senior Officer 1 ($78,583.63) - Senior Officer 4 ($91, 446.38) per annum, pro rata and commensurate with qualifications and experience. This includes a fringe benefits concession of up to $15,900, plus 10.0% superannuation. 
  • Canberra-based, with flexible working arrangements.

The Role

The Development Practice Advisor is responsible for leading or supporting a range of initiatives across different modalities and content areas that:

  1. Contribute to improved practice within ACFID’s member organisations and across the broader Australian international development sector.
  2. Deliver on our identified priorities in ACFID’s Strategic Plan, particularly those under the High Performing Sector and the International Development Standard domains, the organisational Enablers, and the Climate Change and the Civil Society domains.

The position reports to the Learning and Innovation Lead and is part of the Effectiveness and Engagement Team (EET) and works closely within this team, with the Standards and Code team, and the Membership and Stakeholder Engagement Lead and development practice leaders.

Key responsibilities for the role are:

  1. Provide secretariat support and workplan delivery to ensure leadership and effective advice to the membership of ACFID, including from ACFID’s Development Practice Committee (DPC) regarding development practice issues.
  2. Support the delivery of projects across different modalities, particularly peer learning and participatory learning.
  3. Contribute to the ongoing development of ACFID’s learning framework, program, and modalities.
