About the role

The Senior Practice Advisor (SPA) is responsible for providing high level clinical consultation, supervision and practice guidance across ACSO's services. The SPA will be directly involved in the development, implementation and regular review of the ACSO practice framework and will assist and support the organisation to embed evidence-based practice across all frontline services.

The SPA will also provide training and reflective practice sessions, conduct regular reviews and audits regarding ACSO's clinical practice and develop and present high-quality reports.

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or other health-related field, including registration with governing association where relevant.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of evidence-based clinical and practice frameworks that apply to the clients that interface with ACSO
• Strong background in risk assessment, including formal training in specific risk assessment tools and risk management approaches, and a sound understanding of clinical governance frameworks
• Strong background in offence-specific treatment (group and individual) and a working knowledge of a variety of clinical approaches with special category offences and clients with complex needs
• Sound working knowledge of the criminal justice system, legislative frameworks and related Acts, and a comprehensive understanding of forensic psychology
• High level of skill in building collaborative relationships, negotiation, influence and change management, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
