About the service

Wellways, Albury Wodonga Health and Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO), are working together to provide mental health and wellbeing supports in Benalla & Wangaratta to ensure everyone can access treatment and care closer to home.  

The new Benalla & Wangaratta Mental Health Local will provide welcoming and inclusive support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug addiction treatment and care needs. 

We are working with the local community and people who have a personal experience of mental health issues and recovery to build these services so they are the best they can be.

About the role

The Towards Change Clinical Lead is employed by ACSO to oversee the delivery of specialist, evidence based clinical interventions and reports operationally through to the Clinical Director and Operations Manager. Leading a clinical and therapeutic team comprised of AOD, OT, Psych, Addiction Specialists and Nurses, tailored support is provided to clients and their families via their wellbeing plans.

The Towards Change (TC) Team provide assessment and care planning (up to six weeks) for clients referred via the Support and Connect Program with the support of dedicated Wellbeing Navigators. TC provide a range of assessments depending on client need and offer evidenced based wellbeing interventions including mental health, physical health, and substance issues, employment and relationships. TC program is inclusive of post-care planning (up to 12 month).

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum, Bachelor level) in Psychology, Nursing, Health, including registration with governing association such as AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years mental health experience
  • Experience providing oversight and strong leadership to a multidisciplinary team demonstrated through previous experience in positions of leadership or clinical supervision of other employees
  • Able to promote ownership and accountability of work by facilitating a comprehensive governance culture within the team, including successful achievement of KPIs
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of evidence-based clinical and practice frameworks and clinical approaches that apply to the client cohort
  • Ability to develop operational systems and practices necessary to deliver services and monitor and evaluate compliance and effectiveness
  • Experience in the use of assessment and care planning tools such as the Intake Assessment and Referral (IAR) and Recovery Star
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and its impact on the delivery of frontline services, practice and clinical risk management
  • Able to provide regular performance reporting data across all key metrics to all stakeholders.
