Are you passionate about women’s rights and social justice? Do you want to engage and inspire your local community to take action against for global gender equality? Are you keen to learn how to campaign and organise to create change?
If yes, then this role is for you! We are currently recruiting for Brisbane Community Leaders to lead our Brisbane Activist Group.
We’re building a connected, skilled, diverse and vibrant grassroots network that will stand in solidarity with the women we work with around the world. Join us at our online training on Saturday 9th October 10am AEDT and learn all about ActionAid’s #SheWearstheCost campaign and how you can take action with a group of like-minded people to call on big fashion brands like Nike and the Just Group (owner of Just Jeans, Jay Jays, and Dotti) to step up their support to garment workers bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are coming to a critical moment in this campaign. Companies are holding important annual meetings, where they’ll want to impress their investors. With the spotlight on these companies, now’s the time to make our voices heard and push these companies to commit to labor rights within their supply chain.
Our training workshop is an opportunity for you to:
Our campaign is powered by people like you. Your voice and contribution are powerful as we call upon Nike and Just Group to #RespectLabourRights and to #PayYourWorkers.
