All applications must address the following Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment to unionism.
- Demonstrated commitment to public education and some understanding of the contemporary professional and industrial issues impacting on the education industry and workplaces the AEU represents.
- High level written skills and demonstrated experience in writing correspondence, reports, presentations and briefings.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and public relations skills to enable professional interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders including political representatives, officers of other unions and organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and effectively manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding environment underpinned by exceptionally strong time management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency using common office programs and CRM experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Extensive senior experience (minimum 5 years) in working in a similar or relevant position, e.g. political, education or union organisation.
- Tertiary qualifications desirable.
