The NDIS Business Support Coordinator reports to, and is directly accountable to, the Executive Manager: Workforce and Sector Development. The NDIS Business Support Coordinator is responsible for supporting WA Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) as disability service providers under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The occupant of this position will establish sustainable, contemporary NDIS business solutions to ensure that ACCHS are viable and efficient NDIS service providers into the future.

This role is responsible for the management, coordination, planning, development, implementation and evaluation activities related to the Department of Communities' Establishing NDIS business solutions for a sustainable WA ACCHS Sector grant. The NDIS Business Support Coordinator will work with WA ACCHS to deliver disability services that are responsive to the unique needs of Aboriginal people.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of special projects, including the achievement of outcomes and preparation of reports, in a timely manner.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to proactively engage with a variety of government agencies, stakeholder, consultants, community groups and sustain effective relationships.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft correspondence, policy advice, procedural documents, and informational resources for a variety or audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes while working autonomously and as a member of a team.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and coordinate own workload.
  • Ability to work in a respectful and professional manner, demonstrating discretion and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of cultural safety including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who:

  • Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community.
  • Can demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must have the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA "C" Class Driver's Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) prior to appointment.

Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in Australia and will be required to provide evidence of this entitlement, such as an Australian or New Zealand passport, birth certificate, or foreign passport with a relevant working visa.
