AIG is looking for a Philanthropy Officer to lead organisational engagement with corporate and philanthropic donors looking to support the health, wellbeing and lives of Aboriginal people living in the seven northern regions of the NT.

Salary range is $75,000 - $80,000 + generous bonus structure, determined by relevant experience and qualifications.

This is a permanent position based in Darwin at the AIG office in Casuarina.

This position reports directly to the CEO of AIG and is responsible for:

  • Determining and driving middle, major and corporate donors and government fundraising strategy in accordance with organisational strategy
  • Mapping and building/maintaining a resilient network of middle, major and corporate donors and other relationships
  • Achieving a strong prospective donor pipeline and donor conversion program
  • Managing fundraising opportunities and risks, and ensuring timely and effective responses
  • Ensuring middle, major and corporate donor work is appropriately assessed and evaluated
  • Proactively managing and evaluating the philanthropy budget
  • Ensuring effective cooperation and collaboration with relevant staff in philanthropic activities
  • Source, implement and manage fundraising/donor management software.
  • Build, in conjunction with Marketing Consultant, a suite of donor collateral
  • Representing AIG in the community and at events as required

  • Passionate about growing and strengthening a movement of people committed to creating positive change for Aboriginal people living in the seven northern regions of the NT
  • A great story teller, someone who can ensure our community is visible within a Corporate Community that often doesn’t see the Australian Indigenous community
  • Experienced at managing high-value philanthropy and major donations in the non-profit sector
  • Formidable at building and stewarding long-term relationships with key stakeholders
  • Capable of thinking big, and with imagination and creative flair, to develop effective new major donor strategies
  • An exceptional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously while juggling deadlines on a range of varied tasks and projects
  • Experienced: you will have more than two years working in this space and demonstrated training and development in philanthropy
