Are you looking for ways in which you can contribute to a happy and healthy planet for all?  The Animal Justice Party has elected representatives at State and Council level across NSW and Victoria and we’re not stopping there. A federal election is due early next year and we need an experienced Social Media & Marketing Manager (volunteer) to work strategically with the elections working group to lift the profiles of our election candidates. 

You will be supported by an experienced team of passionate animal and environmental advocates; many hold corporate roles in their ‘day job’ and are experienced animal advocates.  Your contribution would help us campaign for some of the most contentious and important issues for animals; live export, protection of wildlife and the environment, agricultural policies to transition us to a plant-based economy and tackling climate change.  If any of these issues resonate with you this role could be the meaningful outlet you seek to contribute to a successful campaign and our first elected Federal member of parliament. 

The role

The main objective of this volunteer role is to create content, manage AJPNSW social platforms and assist candidates with their social media profiles throughout the election campaign period.  In addition, you will:

  • Develop a content strategy
  • Create and publish relevant, original, high-quality content through all AJP social media channels - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok
  • Develop content that includes video, memes, copy and images
  • Use the content to increase brand awareness and supporter/member engagement and enhance the election campaign
  • Use Facebook boosted advertising and monitor and report on effectiveness
  • Assist candidates manage their social media profiles and content 

About you

Whether you currently work in Social Media and Marketing or have a personal passion for creating content, your expertise will be contributing to the growing awareness of animal, people and environment issues. Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrated Social Media content design and execution of successful campaigns
  • Experience across all major social media platforms, from the nuances of functionality for each, to type of content per platform, and how to maximise audience reach
  • Good research skills to source relevant content in line with the AJP’s media policy and brand
  • Good design skills to create video and imagery to convey the importance of serious and poignant issues
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team (online) with likeminded animal advocates

It is also a requirement to be a financial member of the Animal Justice Party, this can easily be arranged if you are not a current member.
